LOVE IT FOODS: cheese, grapes, strawberries
LIKE IT FOODS: popcorn, snap peas
LEARNING IT: @eatnuttzo+banana sandwich squares, candied pecans
After being so excited about putting our new FunBites tool to use, I have some disappointing news.
The verdict on today's lunch was her sandwich was yet again left untouched. Apparently even with the fun cutouts from @funbites, the girl still doesn't even give a chance to sandwiches unless being offered a bite of mine. It befuddles me how something like a sandwich can still be a #learningit food for her, but it isn't my job to always understand this. My role is to offer. Her role is to decide if/how much she'll eat.
Let this/our feeding journey be a testament to keep trying all those unfamiliar and/or less than favored foods! The new year gives your family 365 days for endless food exposures of love it, like it, and learning it foods. See each day and eating opportunity as just that - an eating OPPORTUNITY! Consider measuring "success" not by what gets eaten at each meal but rather in the bigger picture of how your child is making progress. How fun will it be at year's end to compare all the new foods your child LOVES to those they may be still LEARNING to enjoy now? SO. FUN. ...says the nutrition nerd-mom in me!
